news item of kittu

For the first time in the history of 75-year-old Telugu film industry, a 2D animation film - Kittu has been made and released. Kittu is the story of a small monkey, who is naughty, clever, commits mistakes and learns from them. It took nearly three years for its makers to make this animation film.
In a first experiment of its kind in 75-yr-old Telugu film industry, a 2D animation film called Kittu has been made and released in theatres. Never before in the Telugu film industry anything of this sort has been attempted, as this industry is mainly a hero-dominated one. Kittu is produced by Bhargav Pictures which is into animation business, making short films and documentaries, mainly to depict Indian culture.
Animation is accepted by all. Everyone, right from children to men and women, all of them have some childishness in them.
Some big name like editor Sreekar Prasad and music director Raj worked on this film, and it was the first directorial venture for B.Satya.
B.Satya, the director of the film said “The character of Kittu is naughty, clever and very comic in nature. He makes audiences laugh and also think..”

Animation reporter Nikita's query abt animation industry

hi nikita

hru? i answered ur quitions respectively.

q) Tell us about the origin of your film
1)origional ,as assistent director for live movies, i had anopportunity to write n direct for some animated episodies. theproducer mr bhargav after watching them, found me ideal to work formovie.later i had to make a Kittu' movie.

q) Kittu, is said to be the first animation film made in Telegu. Why did you choose animation as your medium?
2)yes, Kittu' is the first animation film made in Telugu. sinceanimation stuff is cragy for every kid .my attention was divertedtowards animation.children are so obsessed with animation thus theyeat, drink and sleep with cartoon channels.and this media attracted meas seldom do any directors tried this .there is no limit forimagination like live movies.so my artistic zeal satisfy more in thismediam.

q) The current trend in India, animated films are being made on mythological stories. Why did you choose a different script?
3) you are rigth ,mythological stories are trend now.however catchingthe contempory concepts are stuff job and we can lure more viewerstowards the film as it gives fresh look.and also as said before ,theoriginal creation gives more satisfaction to the creater.there is achallange involved in a contemporary subject rather than filling theold wine in new battle. and there is great scope to bring in a newnessand fresh feel to the creater and the audiance as well.so in view ofall these reasons ,i choose to go for create a trend rather thanfallowing trend.

q) Walk us through the ideation of the story and concept of the film. ?
4)SYNOPSIS OF THE FILM :kittu z a monkey kid.he z spending his time wellin the forest,he z happly going 2 school, plying vth other animalchildren also.but sometimes he goes against the regular life.as itreached 2 the hights of mischiefs, king expelled and send him 2 city.what kittufaces in the city is the crux of the story.everthing was shown infunny n jovial way like a chocolat 2 the children.
the story is an original creation.set-admist a beautiful jungle.givesmessage of good conduct, and results of being careless and falling in to bad companies.the realday-to-day lifestyle was given for the animal characters,exmpl..mother monkey putting uniform on Kittu, going to school, doinghome work,Kittu coping exams, the police station extra...everthingwas put on in a very comic way.there is an underline message of goodconduct and habits are given in this story.i was also portried thehardships of cityfied life.

q) What is the animation technique used in the film?
5)mostly a stylised form of cut-out animation in flash.some straightahead animation flash. and few hand drawn cells scanned.

q) What kind of music have you used in the film?
6) i had to create new feel to the movie,so i prefer and asked musicdirector T.V.S Raju to adopt ,as the movie largely in the forestbackdrop, crude folk instruments where widely used to get a raw ethnicfeel.aaaand also used fusion of wester and indian.

q) Being the first of its kind in Telegu language films, how did you garner support for it?
7) the government ,film industry ,technitians and producer all wereencouraged my innovitive step and supportive really make this film asa good one.

q) What were the various obstacles you faced while making the film?
8)being the first movie of its kind in Telugufilm industry ,everthingwas on an experimental basis, every stage was a learning experience. dearth of experienced animators and technitians had put the projectto travell through lot of hardships and abstacles.

q) What is the message of your film?

9)Kittu speaks aboutgood, bad ,& evil.besides, the exploitation in thesociety and the hardship one faces in the concrete jungles of citylife.all that was presented in a humarous way.

q) What are the other projects that you are working on?
10)at presant working on a non-feature animation film( will befinished by end of this month). and also planning to come out withanimated feature film.

q) Where do you see regional animated films from here on?
11)there are not many players in the regional segment.however, regionalanimeted films are facing little tough time to market their films, unless they project their base languega is hindi & mumbai based. vhave to depend on mumbai based distribution companies.they prefer toconcentrate on hindi belt and main cities.so in this scenario, therewill be hardly come regional films.however invision of cartoonchannels has brought in a great change in the animationscenario.percentage of people have now understood the value ofanimationfilms.hopefully coming days will be more positive forthis.next generation will equally participate and watch animated filmsas religiously asa live films in future.

q) Any parting message?
12)need is simple economics with entertainment. Indian audience are nowcraving for different art form. As we are aware that Hollywoodanimation films are taking major share from India. If the films aremade in India, the money would not be drained out of our country,Producers would be investing into the movies thereby creating enoughemployment. The foreign cultural invasion is also a great threat, younger generations are stirred away from Indian culture, more andmore children are watching foreign animated stuffs, where by they arelosing hold of our culture. Country which boosts of great culture andheritage is unable to enlighten the generations nest about values.Through indigenously produced content we can revamp all that valuesand get our children exposed to the great heritage of our countrytelling them about our mythical heroes and cultural icons
We have to bring Indian animation to forefront, there would be someinitial hiccups but there is a great hope and as world around islooking at us for animation marvel, themes like Tenali raman,Panchatantra has now reached to west, and Europe, world over iswaiting for Indian content, lets now join hand in hand and make moreIndian content to reach world over. South eastern countries likeJapan, Korea, and china have penetrated world over, Pokemon,Chinchang,Samurai jack all is hitting our children why not we gatherstrength and churn out our Indian content and reach world over.
Foreign animated film is 40 years ahead of Indian animation. Indiananimation is just a new kid in the block it is still in nurturingstage.
Technically we are not sound enough to meet the requirement of anHollywood movies, the Indian animated movies are too amateurish.propertraining schools need come up.
In the last few years, India has emerged as a global powerhouse intechnology development. But experts say that unlike animators incountries like China, South Korea or the Philippines, Indian animatorshave not been exposed to animation films.
It is a relatively new industry. Not much animated stuff is locallyavailable in India. The only experience most animators have are fromcommercials and special effects fields. Experts say there is alsoimage that Indian studios have a hard time in delivering quality andschedules effectively.
There is lack of awareness about the industry and absence ofsubstantial venture capital inflow. There is also need for a properanimation training in the country Another major problem is lack ofgovernment support and financing.since animation industry is buddingstage, govrnment support is needed.the rules of tax system is problemto release the film from base language to other languages.so such kindof things sould modify to help oput this industry.
Animated Cartoons have emerged as an inseparable part of everylollipop loving cosmopolitan lilliput's (read as kids) childhoodacross the length and breadth of the globe. It remains an undeniablereality that the true Originators of animation hailed from the west, and they are truly the monarchs of this mesmerising art.Psychologists the world over swear by the fact that, formative stageis precisely the most sensitive stage of innocent Childhood. Thoughit's an age of fun, frolic and merrymaking, any impression forms inthe mind during this stage goes a long way as a lasting one. Itsinevitable to mention that the irresistible western cartoons occupy alion's share on prime time television network globally catering to thefantasy of every child.

Owing to the ever-increasing demand, the Animation industrytoday is one of the gigantic corporate entities. India so far had beena silent spectator in this regard as the lure of Walt Disney's MickeyMouse, Donald Duck, Winnie the pooh or Warner's Tom and Jerry, Popeyeand a host of other Western Cartoons enchanted and enthralled theIndian kid up to an extent that it became a part of their existence,as every child swears by his first love for the same. This explainsthe height of real dearth of good animated cartoons made for theIndian kids. The ground reality is that Indian contribution to globalanimation demand is absolutely negligible and specifically in apremature stage. The corporate realized the gravity of this situationin India and making zealous initiatives to explore the innumerableopportunities in this rapidly thriving industry. It always had been apersistent endeavor of every Indian parent to inculcate in theirchildren a sense of Courage, Wisdom and enriching morals which arefound abundantly in the rich Cultural ancient Indian tradition. Inthis context, what could be the more impactful medium to instill andinculcate such values in a child other than animation which alwaysenjoy a primary place in every child's heart.

so nikita ,i hope this vl b enough .if u feel 2 get anythiing 4m me ,plz do mail me
